Explanation NNGA Scratch Points
Scratch Regular Series
NNGA & Nevada State
Points are awarded for top 15 place finishes in both NNGA and Nevada State events. Points are awarded in the division played only. (see points tables for special situations)
USGA Points
All USGA points are awarded at the completion of the tournament's final round. Players can apply the appropriate points to both Regular and Senior divisions if applicable. The following events are eligible for USGA points. US Open, US Amateur, US Public Links, US Mid-Amateur, US Junior Amateur, US Senior Open, US Senior Amateur.
Pacific Coast Points
Points will be awarded at the completion of the tournament's final round

Team events will be awarded the same points as Non Team points divided by the number of players on the team. NEW FOR 2012 Events that are rescheduled from 2 days to 1 day will receive ½ points. Events that are weather shortened will receive full points. |

Scratch Competitions & Championships
Match Play Qualifying
Total of sixteen (16) players qualify. State Match Play scratch points are listed on the website under Tournaments/Points Standings. Previous year winner and runner up are exempt along with top eight (8) on points list. The Match Play Qualifier tournament will determine the remaining qualifiers. This event can vary from year to year depending on the schedule. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates of the qualifier events.
State Amateur Qualifying
State Amateur Scratch: There are a total of thirty (30) scratch player spots from each association available. State Amateur qualifier points are listed on the website under Tournaments/Points Standings. Players who placed in the top 10 from the previous Nevada State Amateur are exempt from qualifying along with the remaining top 10 from the scratch points list. The thirty (30) qualifying spots are reduced for each exempt player committed to play. The State Amateur Scratch Qualifier tournament will determine the remaining number of qualifiers. This event can vary from year to year depending on the schedule. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates of the qualifier events.
State Mid-Amateur
Total of twenty (20) players per association. State Mid Am points are listed on the website. The top four (4) finishers from the previous year are exempt. The remaining top 10 on the points list and the balance from a State Mid-Amateur Qualifier (if needed) or from entry by postmark. Players are required to have a 10.0 index or better to enter this event. Players will sign up either online or by paper entry with the hosting association. All player spots for each association will be entered using postmark or received date in the case of electronic entry. A list of the players will be posted prior to the deadline to help players note the number of spots remaining.
Pacific Coast Championship
Total of three (3) players qualify. Pacific Coast points are listed on the website. The final points event for qualifying will be the Northern Nevada Amateur. See website for scheduled time and place.
3-Man Team
The top three scratch players from Nevada State Golf Association qualify for this USGA event. For the 2010 tournament, two (2) players will be selected from the SNGA and one (1) player from the NNGA. The next event is 2012 and will rotate every two years which association receives the two (2) players. This event can vary every two years depending on the schedule. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates of points cutoff.
Brooks/Park Cup
Total of twelve (12) players qualify each year. Each player must play in at least three events to qualify. Points are listed on the website. The top 11 from the Scratch division points list plus the Senior Blue Scratch Player of the Year qualify. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates of points cutoff.
Player of the Year
The top point earner for the Scratch division is awarded Player of the Year. POY points are listed on the website. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates of point's cutoff.
