Explanation NNGA Senior Point
Senior Series
The Senior Series of NNGA events have three divisions: Blue Senior Scratch, Blue Senior Net (ages 50-59) and Silver Senior Scratch and Net (ages 60+). Points are awarded for top 15 place finishes in both NNGA and Nevada State events. Points are awarded in the division played only. (see points tables for special situations)
Senior Blue Division
The Senior Blue Division players are required to choose scratch or net division for each event. The points accrue in the division chosen. The division you select will be the only division in which you will receive and accrue points. NOTE: Players are able to change their division at any time and start collecting points in their newly selected division starting at that date, there will be no carryover of points earned in the other division. Players over 60 can choose to accrue points in the Blue Scratch or Net divisions.
Silver Senior Scratch & Net (Over 60)
Silver Senior Net players only accrue Net points. NNGA pays one Scratch winner in the Silver division. NEW! Silver Scratch players will be awarded points for first place only. The player that has the most points will be invited to participate in the Haase-Whalen Cup matches and the Oliver Cup Matches. In case of ties, the Silver Scratch player with the most merchandise total will be chosen.
USGA Senior Points
All USGA points are awarded at the completion of the tournament's final round. Players can apply the appropriate points to both Regular and Senior divisions if applicable. The following events are eligible for USGA points. US Open, US Amateur, US Public Links, US Mid-Amateur, US Junior Amateur, US Senior Open, US Senior Amateur.

Team events will be awarded the same points as Non Team points divided by the number of players on the team. NEW FOR 2012 Northern Nevada Net Championship players will be awarded points for 9th to 15th place finishes. Events that are rescheduled from 2 days to 1 will receive ½ points Events that are weather shortened will receive full points. |

Senior Competitions & Championships
Below is a listing of competitions and championships that are used to determine the highest number of points during the specified time period for senior players:
State Senior Amateur Qualifying
Blue Scratch & Blue Net (no Silver at this time)
Total of thirty (30), Fifteen (15) scratch and fifteen (15) net player spots from each association. Players must select scratch or net when entering. State Senior points are listed on the website. The top 5 players from the previous year and the 5 points leaders, (scratch and net) are automatically qualified and have priority until the entry closing date. Please see the website tournament schedule for exact dates for points and the qualifier tournament.
SNGA players will sign up either online or by paper entry with the hosting association. Northern Nevada will have a qualifier for the remaining spots in both scratch and net.
Lou Oliver Cup
Total of (12) twelve players, Top (5) five Blue Scratch and (1) one Silver Scratch player. Top (5) five Blue Net and Silver Net player. Points are listed on the website. Silver Scratch player will be chosen by number of wins during the points period.
Senior Player of the Year
Blue Scratch, Blue Net, Silver Scratch, Silver Net
The top point’s earner from each division is awarded Player of the Year. Points are listed on the website. Points are listed on the website. Silver Scratch Player of the Year will be determined by number of wins during the current year. Ties will be broken by merchandise awarded that year.
